Bloody annoyed.
Mar. 12th, 2010 06:17 pmSo. Tuesday my new job confirmed that I could start on Thursday. Gave me a time to show up, said they'd have the paperwork and I could get my ID card, my password, all that fun stuff, then head down to the office and start working.
Well. The paperwork hadn't been signed yet (it needs to be signed by someone who can make the offer before I can sign it to accept the offer, you see) and they'd screwed up my e-mail address, so I got my pass and went into the office. I sat in on a meeting, did some errands, read a book... Slow day, I figured something like that might happen the first day.
I got an e-mail in the late afternoon, about half an hour after I got my e-mail account, saying I probably shouldn't start work until the paperwork was signed. (I hadn't, figuring that that was generally a bad idea). End of the day, the paperwork still hadn't shown up. Sent off an e-mail asking if it would still show my start date as the 11th, headed home.
Got in today. No paperwork. No response to the e-mail. (No GMail access, either, and as some of you may imagine I found that rather annoying.) Sat down and waited.
And waited.
And waited.
So yeah. As things stand, I left an annoying, not-as-well-paying job to come here. But I left a paying job because I was told my new job would start yesterday, and here I am at the weekend, and it still hasn't.
I am annoyed, I've probably already had the first three really obvious thoughts that came to mind pointed out, and I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do on Monday. Suggestions?
